Bringing Color and Care to Richmond Community Hospital

Bringing Color and Care to Richmond Community Hospital

Artist Jason Ford was commissioned to bring new life to the Behavioral Health Unit at Bon Secours Richmond Community Hospital. With a vision to create a welcoming and uplifting environment, Ford designed and painted a series of murals that add both beauty and a sense of calm to the space.

The murals were officially unveiled during a special recognition ceremony attended by staff, friends, and community members. The event included a meet-and-greet with Ford as well as the blessing of the newly painted unit, a gesture that underscored the hospital’s commitment to care and community connection.

This project reflects Ford’s belief in the power of art to transform not just walls but the way people feel in a space. By incorporating color, imagery, and thoughtful design, the murals now serve as a daily reminder of hope and support for those who work in and visit the Behavioral Health Unit.
