“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, what are you doing for others?” – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Through the ART.Life.Style Program, Jason Ford and his team aim to help youth think more creatively and beyond the limits of their current circumstances. Partnering with the Richmond Juvenile Detention Center, the goal was to infuse art and real-world experiences to encourage self-expression and inspire participants to follow their passions.

The 12-week program included mural painting, hands-on art workshops, and open dialogue sessions designed to spark positive change in mindset and attitude. By providing new avenues for creativity, the program worked to build confidence, foster leadership skills, and help the young men envision a brighter future for themselves once back in their communities.

At the heart of ART.Life.Style is the belief that we must show our youth better options before we can expect them to choose better paths. This project was a step toward doing just that.
