Back to Where It Started | A Collaborative Mural at Hermitage High School

In a full circle creative moment, muralist Jason Ford was commissioned by Hermitage High School, his alma mater to lead a collaborative mural project in the senior courtyard. The initiative was led by Emilia Texler, Fine Arts Department Chair, who invited Ford to design a mural that would embody school spirit and engage students in the creative process.

The result was a bold, collaborative piece that captured the essence of Panther pride. Ford worked closely with students throughout the project from initial concept development to hands on painting, guiding them in transforming their ideas into a permanent work of art on campus.

The mural now stands as a vibrant tribute to the energy and identity of Hermitage High’s student body, while also symbolizing the power of returning to one’s roots to inspire the next generation.

Ford credits this project as one of personal significance, not only for the opportunity to give back to the school that shaped his early artistic path, but also for the chance to collaborate with young artists discovering their own creative voice.
